Review @ [H]ard|OCPWith their first official motherboard release, BFG proves why they are a force to be reckoned with. The board was very well thought out and designed, with all components spaced out adequately and well placed. While the board has only a small number of included features, it utilizes the features it does include very well.
The only real issues I had with the board were all BIOS related, and these issues only related to the lack of configurable settings. The most glaring omissions from the BIOS were configurable control of the DRAM vtt voltage, the HyperTransport voltage, and the PCI-Express voltage. Other than those minor BIOS issues, there is really nothing major to complain about here.
For a first board, BFG did a great job. This board tested better than some boards I’ve had from other better established motherboard manufacturers. ABIT and ASUS had better watch out, because BFG’s about to muscle its way in to their territory. If you are looking to get an Athlon 64 system and don’t necessarily care about SLI, I’d highly recommend giving the BFGRNF4U a hard look. You definitely won’t be disappointed. The BFG Tech BFGRNF4U is currently priced a bit higher than the competition, but does come with BFG’s stellar support. Still this may not be enough of a value for many consider the price delta. The BFGRNF4U is without a doubt a blindingly fast gaming motherboard that shows a level of stability that is second to none.
Considering this is BFG Tech’s first motherboard to ever be sold, there is likely a very bright future ahead of them. I hope we see BFG Tech apply the same focus we have seen them apply to their video card line.
