Die Portierung von Linux scheint ununterbrochen Fortschritte zu machen; während das Projekt letzte Woche eine bootbare Version von Linux für die Xbox vorstellte, können die Entwickler diese Woche bereits erste Kernel-Module für Audio- und USB-Funktionalität vorweisen.

Der von nVidia speziell für die Xbox entwickelte Xbox Media Communication Processor, kurz MCPX, übernimmt in der Konsole aus dem Hause Microsoft eine Reihe von Funktionen. Der Chip besteht aus zwei digitalen Signalprozessoren (DSPs) und stellt sich als ein wahres Kommunikations-Talent dar. Neben Sound ist MCPX auch für die Anbindung der Konsole an das Netzwerk zuständig. Ferner enthält der Chip eine USB- und Speicherschnittstelle.

Was man auf ihnen sieht? Nichts besonders.. Nur SuSE Linux mit KDE/Konquerer bzw. Tux Racer auf Xbox :eek:
