Windows XP für 4 CPUs?

Hi Leute,

Ich habe soeben zwei Xeon 3.06 Engineering-Samples (unlocked :eek:

) mit Hyperthreading ersteigert und werd mir die zwei babies mit einem Asus Canterwood PC-DL Deluxe als Desktop und Gaming-Station einrichten.

Beide Prozessoren unterstützen Hyperthreading, d.h. bei einem dual System sind praktisch 4 Prozessoren verfügbar (2 physisch, 2 vitruell)

iirc unterstützt Windows XP Pro nur 1-2 Prozessoren, andere Betriebssysteme ausser Windows XP kommen vermutlich nicht in Frage (inkompatiblität und kosten, wobei letzteres evtl. doch kein problem darstellen sollte)

Kurz gesagt: Gibt's eine Windows XP Version, die 4 Prozessoren unterstützt?

imho unterstützen nur Servervarianten von Windows mehr als 2 CPU's und das Äquivalent zu XP wäre dann der Windows Server 2003. Aber das kann bei den Xeon anders sein, denn technisch gesehen sind es ja nur 2 CPUs. Vielleicht find ich noch ein paar Infos

windows xp "kennt" afair den unterschied zwischen echten und HT-Cpus ...
ich glaube mich erinnern zu können, daß mitn pro auch dual xeons im 4er pack rennen ...

afaik brauchst dus nur für 4 physische cpus, net 4 virtuelle...
sollte also mit xp rennen.....

Auf der CD steht iirc "für 1-2 Prozessoren" oder etwas ähnliches.

Wäre denkbar, das damit zwei physische gemeint sind. w00t w00t!

Laufen wirds ziemlich sicher, die Frage ist nur obs HT nutzt oder nicht.

geizhals preis wär für 2 stk 1138€ - natürlich keine ES.
