The issue is that NFSU is sensitive to graphic performance on various systems. Lowering the level of stuff displayed seems to speed up NFSU's game play speed. Using a camcorder to record a run, then checking the time shows that NFSU's displayed clock is off, sometimes as much as 20 seconds on a single circuit run. This bug affects both offline and online play. But in offline play, or if you challenge, than any speed up or slow down in NFSU also affects your clock. The issue is that if you accept a challenge from another player, you end up using his NFSU "clock", which may be faster or slower than yours. My offline lap times are normally around 1:22 to 1:23 (I recorded a 1:21.65 offline run with a camcorder) but in spite of consistent performance, my displayed lap times have huge variations, from 0:59.xx (I recorded a 59.33), to 1:35, although all these laps seemed about the same in real time. If I turn down the graphics options in NFSU, my game speeds up absudly fast. At first I thought this was related to Vsync based on another players thread, but I've tried Vsync on, off, application preference, and all end up with the game just going too fast if graphics are turned down. erklährt einiges
