The experience of using the DeathAdder reminds us of using Logitech's G5. It just plain feels right in the hand. It's comfortable, weighted right, and easy to press every button without accidentally hitting the wrong one or slowing down to think about your precise finger placement. You just put your hand on it, the mouse disappears, and the connection between your brain and the game is all that's left.

It's hard to say that we like it better than the G5, but it's not worse. The wide mouse wheel of the DeathAdder provides for easier mouse-wheel-clicking, but the higher-raised wheel of the G5, with firmer detents, makes for more precise scrolling when you use it for weapon selection and such. Both mice are extremely comfortable; we like how the DeathAdder has the rubberized feel all across the back, but the rubberized sized of the G5 are great, too. Both mice have excellent configuration software with customizable buttons and plenty of control over sensitivity and DPI settings. Both mice track smoothly, evenly, and accurately at a wide range of settings.

Picking a winner will most likely come down to personal preference, and really, that's the biggest compliment we could give the DeathAdder. It's no insult to say that it is merely "as good as" the best gaming mouse we've yet tested. Some will surely prefer one over the other for whatever minor design feature better fits their unique hand shape or play style, but in overall quality, craftsmanship, and performance, the two are locked in a dead heat. With as many mice as we have access to, the DeathAdder is one of the only two mice, along with Logitech's G5, that we would happily leave hooked up to our daily gaming PC.
