P4-CPUs mit 3+ GHz -> neues Mainboard

Die letzten Gerüchte über den P4 (P4-CPUs mit mehr als 3 GHz würden aufgrund des größeren Energiekonsums ein neues Mainboard verlanten) wurden am 4. Tag des IDF Wirklichkeit: Intel veröffentlicht neue Empfehlungen für Mainboard-Hersteller.

So Intel is issuing new thermal and power guidelines for motherboard designers, which will require most motherboard designs to be updated. The real culprit here is the voltage regulator – this section is responsible for better than half the heat dissipation.
