Review @ GamePCA single Radeon X1950 Pro card will generally give performance right about on par with a GeForce 7900 GT, better than the similarly priced GeForce 7900 GS while lower than the more expensive GeForce 7950 GT. However, the Radeon X1950 Pro is a better overall deal compared to the 7900 GS, as the X1950 Pro gives far better performance while at the same time only consuming a bit more power. In terms of noise, the card is very similar to Nvidia’s low-noise cooling systems. We still think that ATI’s Radeon X1900 XT is a better deal for gamers, but it’s unlikely that these cards will last for long, whereas the X1950 Pro is a more long term solution.
The Radeon X1950 Pro card performs quite well in a dual-card Crossfire setup, delivering performance levels on par or greater than the GeForce 7950 GX2 card in most cases, while selling for a bit less overall. Two Radeon X1950 Pro cards is about the same price as a single Radeon X1950 XTX 512 MB card, and in most cases, the two Radeon X1950 Pro cards will perform better. However, going with a dual-card setup requires a Crossfire compatible motherboard and dual PCI Express power connectors, while a Radeon X1950 XTX card can be run in any PCI Express motherboard with a single power connector.
