The eVGA.com ACS2 is the next generation of graphics card cooling that follows the launch of the original ACS system. Like the original ACS, the ACS2 was designed using the best in thermal principle and flow mechanics, and utilizes cooling technologies that have never been applied in the area of graphics card cooling. Like its predecessor, the ACS2 has been designed with maximum functionality and usability in mind, and incorporates a number of design advantages:
Heat Pipe Technology – ACS2 includes three heat pipes (one on the solder side of the card for the memory located there, and two on the component side of the card for the memory and GPU) that rapidly transfer heat from the components into the ACS2’s powerful heatsinks. Copper Heatsink Improved Memory Cooling – ACS2 actively targets the memory on both the front and backside of the card – allowing it to achieve very high levels of cooling efficiency. Dual Induction Fan – In order to improve the level of airflow through the heatsink, the ACS2 incorporates a unique fan design that pulls air in from both its top and bottom. No Clearance Limitations – Like the original ACS, the ACS2 was designed to make sure that the user would not loose the PCI slot that sits right next to the AGP port. At 11.7mm in thickness, the ACS2 allows for ample clearance and does not interfere with PCI device installation. Incredible Cooling Performance – According to the developer, the ACS2 has achieved remarkable levels of cooling performance, with the capability to cool the GeForce4 Ti 4600 part to better than 48oC – the temperature for the GPU with the reference cooling system was 64oC – making the ACS2 the clear victor for high performance cooling. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/story.html?id=1015046434
