News zum GNOME2.2 Backport für Woody

Hat jemand schon OpenOffice 1.0.2 unter GNOME 2.2 zum laufen gebracht? Bei mir hat es massive Installationsprobleme.

1. Versuch:

Ich habe es letztendlich mit dpkg --force-all -i * zwar installieren können, allerdings hat es keine Schriften (sehe Screenshot) und reagiert sehr zäh.

apt-get möchte das Teil ohnehin am liebsten wieder löschen:

Es dürfte wohl nicht möglich sein den OpenOffice 1.0.2 Port mit den GNOME 2.2 backport zu betreiben

Das Hauptproblem liegt an libfreetype6. OpenOffice läuft nur mit der alten Version die im original Debian 3.0 enthalten ist. Diverse GNOME 2.2 Programme brauchen aber die neue. Komisch ist nur das GNOME 2.0 (von kov) ohne Probleme mit OpenOffice 1.0.1 funktionierte.

Da neuerdings auch Mozilla bzw. Galeon bei einigen Websites ohne Grund abstürzen, habe ich mein Debian System jetzt wieder durch Red Hat Linux ersetzt.

Jetzt auch unter Red Hat 8.1 mit Mozilla :eek:

Und zwar CNET News: http://news.com.com bzw. ZDNet http://zdnet.com.com

Kurioserweise funktionieren beide Websites erst fehlerfrei, aber 2-3 Stunden später bringen sie nur noch den Browser zum Absturz.

OpenOffice 1.0.2 läuft jetzt mit GNOME 2.2 unter Woody fehlerfrei

Der Trick:
Man manipuliert Packages.gz und gibt apt-get was es will. Ein openoffice.org-bin Paket für Sarge (Testing) kann wahre Wunder vollbringen.

Dieser Mix aus Woody/Sarge Paketen installiert sich dann ohne irgendwelche Schwierigkeiten

GNOME 2.2 wurde aus Trafficgründen vom Debian Planet Server entfernt. ftp.acc.umu.se bietet aber einen Mirror mit den entsprechenden Dateien an.

Einfach folgendes in /etc/apt/sources.list eintragen:
