The VDIMM mod did not give me the same performance in terms of voltage like the OCZ DDR Booster did. With the VDIMM mod, the max VDIMM was 3.28V – 3.3V. With the DDR Booster, I turned the voltage adjustment knob all the way and got 4.1V! One important point to stress here, I have seen a lot of forumers who mod their 3.3V rail on their power supply to get 3.6V – 3.7V, together with the VDIMM mod produced a max of 3.7V VDIMM. But this is not safe to the motherboard as 3.7V coursing through the motherboard to other devices will cause troubles and ultimately, the death of your motherboard. OCZ DDR Booster on the other hand, uses an auxiliary power supply from the 20 pin ATX power line, which means only the memory get the ramped up voltage.

[...]

The DDR Booster does have some shortcomings. Firstly, it takes up 1 DIMM slot. So those of you who are running 4 x 256MB DDRs will have to sacrifice 1 or 2 slots for the DDR Booster. Secondly, the LED display was placed on the side of the device. Because DIMM slots are quite close to each other, you have to have an angle to view the display. I put mine on the other most DIMM slot to the front of the case, and with the P4C800 E Deluxe, the ATX 20 pin 12V main line is there. In which I have to move it in order to view the display. Thirdly, in the manual, it says that you need a fan blowing at the DDR Booster when you are going above 3.4V, especially near the heatsinks which is quite warm to touch. This presents a problem as there is so little space around the DIMM slots, and you would have to stick fan (with a glue gun) perpendicular to the DDR Booster as shown.
