Not much has been published on this monitor as it is so new, but one glance at the technical docs of this monitor got us extremely excited. The CML174 is the latest in a long line of Hitachi LCD monitors which have progressively gotten better with time. Their monitors are some of the few on the market in which we could honestly recommend for gaming purposes, and with their latest screen, it appears as if they are extending that lead even further. With an amazing 12ms rise and 4ms fall pixel refresh rate; the Hitachi CML174 has a refresh rate of 3-4x faster compared to most brand new LCD screens on the market (30-40ms is very common today). As pixel refresh rate is THE determining factor for those looking to LCD's for gaming, the CML174 on paper looks far and away to be the best gaming LCD yet. But hey, you never know what we might find once we flip the power switches and enable these liquid filled bad boys.

Besides the obvious price difference between large screen CRT and LCD monitors, we're running out of reasons to not recommend LCD monitors. They look great, they take up less space and power, and now with this latest generation of screens, gaming performance can be on par with a CRT monitor. What's not to like

ja, JETZT kann man glauben, daß er recht gut ist, weil er jetzt endlich objektiv reviewed wurde ohne Firmenhype. Aber ich hätte diesen Teil gequoted: After firing up some games on this monitor, it became glaringly clear that the Hitachi CML174 is the best gaming LCD we've ever seen. No questions about it. Considering we've reviewed more LCD monitors than other websites, and we've seen a lot of really great LCD screens come through our offices, being able to thoroughly sweep the competition within the first few minutes is pretty amazing. Gaming performance is simply fantastic. Color reproduction is great and there is for the most part no pixel blurring that we can even see.  Trotzdem: wenn sie bei 12ms oder gar 10ms angekommen sind werde ich kaufen, dann isses 100% sicher toppest. (auch wenns jetzt schon sehr gut is mit 16ms)
