Die Frage ist, was werden die Platten kosten und wie ist der Performance der schnellen Varianten?
in europa wird maxtor aber net um 2 jahre warranty rumkommen ...

Weil sich die Anzahl der Magnetscheiben verringert, kosten die Platten weniger, als sie mit mehr Platters kosten würde, auf jeden Fall eine Ersparnis.
Der Grund für die Kürzung der Garantie ist derselbe Grund: Magnetscheiben mit 80 GB areal density sind einfach unzuverlässiger als welche mit 40 GB.
