wollt mal fragen wie stand der Dinge ist?

werd nächste woche mal meinen Server neu aufsetzen werd aber wahrscheinlich eine reine freenas installation machen ohne proxmox

Wie ist dein Server ausgestattet hardwaretechnisch? Ich könnte dir bei solaris auch helfen. von Freenas halte ich nocht soviel weil der ZFS code so alt ist.

Zurzeit sieht es so aus:
ASUS M3N78-EM mit einem BE-2400 oder so und 8GB Ram.
und einen PCI64 8-fach SATA Raidcontroller (kA was genau für eine Marke) funkt aber bei PCI32 ohne probs.

Betriebssystem ist zurzeit ProxMox (Debian)

mein Problem ist das ich sehr oft Dateisystemfehler habe und auch oft ziemlich langsam wird statt überlicherweise 60MB/s übertrage ich zB nur 15MB/s.

Ich glaub das der Raid Controller schuld ist und deshalb würde ich das ganze jetzt auf Software Raid umändern.

Festplatten sind es 5x Seagate 5900.x 2TB

und jetzt stehe ich halt vor der Qual der Wahl eine Distri zu finden

Falls es ein LSI MegaRaid SATA 300-8 ist kann ich bei dem Problem den Controller zu einem einfachen SATA Controller zu machen helfen. Bei anderen muss ich mich selbst schlaumachen. Allerdings kann ich nicht sagen, inwieweit dein Mainboard von Solaris unterstützt wird. Ich bin auch gerade dabei eine Festplatte nach der anderen einzuschicken. Bei einem Windowsrechner wäre noch keine auffällig geworden aber ZFS und Smartctl haben die Fehler gefunden und diese werden von den Testtools bestätigt. Nun geht heute die 3. Platte auf Reisen, die 4. ist danach dran. Dann sollte alles Fehlerfrei sein bei allen 12 Platten.

Ne ist kein LSI ist ein ICP Vortex.

So hab jetzt Nexenta aufgesetzt mit napp-it. Allerdings habe ich das Prob. das napp-it leider keine Festplatten erkennt... das Nexenta interface auf Port 2000 erkennt alle Festplatten die eingebaut sind aber napp-it gibt einen Fehler aus vlt. kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen?

hat das sonst jemand gehabt? oder hab ich einfach nur was vergessen?

edit:// ok im HW Luxx dürfte der Entwickler von napp-it unterwegs sein und der hat mich gerade aufgeklärt!

Ich dürfte irgendwie das falsche Image installiert haben und somit NexantaStor statt NexantaCore installiert.

Allerdings werde ich jetzt OpenIndiana 151 in Verbindung mit napp-it testen mal schaun ob das auf anhieb funktioniert

neues von der front
gestern is eine WD 3TB HDD eingegangen und momentan läuft der "resilvering" prozess
geht alles recht einfach von der hand mit napp-it, wobei man den dialog mir "replace" noch etwas deutlicher ausführen könnte wenn die beschädigte platte bereits entfernt ist
aber ich will ned kleinlich werden
