probleme mit 9070 XT + Ubuntu 24.04

ich hab mir eine 9070 XT geholt, habe aber probleme die unter ubuntu zu verwenden. wenn ich steam starte freezed das bild für ein paar sekunden, das geht einige male so, bis steam irgendwann startet. da kann ich aber nur die friends list und den chat verwenden, lib / store geht nich und wenn ich ein spiel starten will passiert das gleiche nochmal, nur dass das spiel dann auch abstürzt.

was sagt der vulkaninfo?

€dit: mesa ist 25.x?

Woher beziehst du mesa / kernel? Kernel < 6.12 ist scheinbar nicht recommended (siehe hier zb https://www.phoronix.com/review/amd-radeon-rx9070-linux)

Die Karte ist noch viel zu neu. Man kann mit Ubuntu 24.04 höchstens die proprietären Treiber von hier verwenden.

Eine andere Möglichkeit wäre noch die Entwicklerversion von Plucky Puffin alias Ubuntu 25.04. Dort dürfte alles drin sein, was man braucht.

Ist alles zu alt in Ubuntu 20.04 um mit der Karte vernuenftig zu werken.

Phoronix verweist in dem Artikel auch auf ein PPA (https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archi...raphics-drivers), dort liegt mesa 25.0 aus git gebaut.
Funktioniert aber auch erst mit Ubuntu ab 24.04.

ansonsten das ppa aus issue seinem link nehmen. rocm ist wieder ein komplett anderes kapitel - hier gehts um steam startup.

In den Logs im OP schauts so aus, als waer dein Steam die snap variante. Probier sonst eventuell noch steam aus den apt sourcen.
