hab heute mein epox 8k3a+ gholt *freu* und nun würd ich gerne das neueste Bios draufhaun! Hab sowas aber noch nie gemacht.
Also wie kann ich das Bios updaten?
Glaub diese beiden Angaben sind relevant: hab win2k, mit ntfs formatiert, und KEIN Floppy!!!

also wenn das flashtool unter dos läuft gibts nur 2 möglichkeiten:

also da ich mit meinem mobo noch net ins windows kommen bin, weiß ichs net.
unter DOS kann ichs jedenfalls starten (mit Strg+H glaub ich) Ist es das?
?? Was du meinst ist wahrscheinlich ins Bios kommen (strg-h). das hat aber mit DOS _nix_ zu tun.
das du nach einem mobo tausch net ins win kommst is klar, das musst du (sehr wahrscheinlich) neu installieren. probier mal abgesicherten modus-->wenn der auch net geht-->neuinstallation
zurück zum eigentlichen thema: das flashtool ist beim bios-updatefile dabei, das kannst du dir auf der epox-page holen...
ja mitn abgesicherten gehts auch net.
ins BIOS kommt man ja mit ENTF !? 
ähm blöde frage, aber kann ich eh wieder meine HDs mit NTFS formatieren? Oder is das ein Problem?
wo hin kommst du dann mit strg-h (ich schätz mal ins raid-bios, falls du eins hast...)
natürl kannst du wieder ntfs nehmen. du musst dich jetzt entscheiden ob du 2k nochmal drüberinstallierst (eher ne notlösung) oder ob du im 2k-setup deine startpartition löscht und neu anlegst (geht aber nur wenn du sys und daten net auf einer partition hast...sonst sind die daten weg)
sodale ich formatier jetzt beide HDs (versetzt um datenverlust zu verhindern) auf NTFS und installier bei der barracuda Win2k.
dann werd ich ma vom Vater des Floppy ausbaun und a Diskette suchen. Wie gehts weiter?
du lädst dir von der epox-hp das bios runter, formatierst dir eine bootfloppy, kopierst das runtergeladene zeug drauf (zuerst entpacken
), dann bootest von der floppy und flasht dein bios (näheres dazu in der readme); pass nur auf das du eine diskette nimmst die 100pro ok is, sonst kannst dir das update versaun...
fahr jetz mal von der hackn nachhaus..fallst noch fragen hast--> kann sie dir dann ca. in 45min beantworten

wie formatiert man eine bootfloppy? *peinlich* 
einfach im windows explorer?
start doch einfach mit ner bootable win98er-CD ins DOS...

also: arbeitsplatz (od. explorer) > floppylw anklicken (nicht doppelt) > dann rechtsklick drauf > formatieren > option "ms-dos stardiskette erstellen" anklicken > voila!
so genau hätt ichs ah wieder net gebraucht aber trotzdem danke
sodale, 80er formatiert noch immer, wenn ich die diskette hab dann meld ich mich wieder
sodale, hab jetzt auf ne disk das neueste bios gspielt (is ne *.bin, passt eh, oder?)
beim formatieren hab ich allerdings nirgends auswählen können das es eine bootable dos disk werden soll!
wie gehts weiter?

This does not require you to have a bootable floppy disk.
The Boot Disk Method
Create a bootable floppy disk in accordance with the instructions laid out in the manual of your particular operating system. This bootable floppy needs to be able to boot to a DOS console capable of executing normal MS-DOS batch and executable files.
Download the required BIOS image file from the EPoX website.
Copy to this floppy disk a copy of AWDFLASH.EXE and also a copy of the BIOS binary image file called xxxxxxxx.bin
Insert the diskette into drive A, reboot your system and boot from the diskette.
When booting is finished, type awdflash *.bin /cc/cp/cd/R (dependant of the name of the BIOS image file) and then press return to run BIOS upgrade program.
The BIOS will automatically flash and reboot the machine.
After this, press DEL to enter the BIOS setup and select to "LOAD OPTIMIZED DEFAULTS". After doing this select to "SAVE & EXIT"
Please note that this does not create a backup of the BIOS binary file.
For Command line help on Award Flash utility, type AWDFLASH/? at the command prompt and press return
bei win2k geht das mitn erstellen von der bootdisk aber net...
die erste methode klingt überigends viel leichter, gibts da nen haken?
und wann genau soll ich ALT+F2 drücken?
