Members of the masked Midwestern metal spectacle otherwise known as, Slipknot, are letting it all hang out for the long awaited and highly anticipated project, Stone Sour. Their self-titled debut will be released on September 17th, 2002. Stone Sour, of which vocalist Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root were members of prior to Slipknot, will forego their ritualistic masks and re-join forces with original Stone Sour members guitarist Josh Rand and bassist Sean Economaki. Joel Ekman is the new face in the band on drums and Slipknot's Sid Wilson offers guest DJ appearances. While still boasting heavy hard rock true to Slipknot fundamentals, the side group offers a more introspective and melodic take on music. According to Taylor, the sound is "more like Metallica meets Alice in Chains." While Slipknot prides itself on anonymity, Stone Sour proposes intimacy.
Stone Sour will begin filming a video for the song, "Get Inside," on June 26th at The Whiskey in Los Angeles, CA. A video shoot is also in the works for the song "Bother", which can be currently heard on the Platinum selling Spider?Man soundtrack, as well as on many modern rock stations across the country that are quickly discovering this unexpected and powerful side of Corey Taylor's vocal repertoire. The 16-track release will be comprised of the following (sequence still to be determined):

1. Get Inside
2. Orchids*
3. Blotter
4. Choose
5. Monolith*
6. Inhale
7. Take A Number
8. Bother
9. Inside The Cynic
10. Cold Reader*
11. Blue Study
12. Idle Hands
13. Tumult
14. Omega
*Sid Wilson appears
