Review @ HardwareZoneAlthough the TF680i SLI Deluxe is a stock OEM board, NVIDIA understands that as an enthusiast chipset, the board should not only be feature rich, but perform well too. These are all fulfilled in the Biostar TF680i SLI Deluxe with triple PCIe x16 slots (not to mention the only high-end SLI solution that is viable for the Intel platform), high-end HD Audio CODEC, great connectivity options and the gamut of NVIDIA special features native to the nForce 680i SLI like DualNet, MediaShield, First Packet, SLI Memory and LinkBoost. With the debug LEDs and power/reset buttons on the PCB, the board looks set for power users. The only gripe we have is the component grouping and positioning on the PCB, which makes it difficult to access the said power/reset buttons in a casing.
Application performance of the TF680i SLI Deluxe though, is top-notch and all the troubles with memory compatibility that we faced with the Intel versions of the nForce 500 series are a thing of the past. In most cases, users shouldn't be worried too much with gaming performance as the GPU plays a much more crucial aspect, but a stable platform with well optimized memory, CPU and storage subsystems are essential for productivity software. During the review, we didn't encounter any problems that could be attributed to the board and while the chipset can get a little hot, there's always the bundled fan to add a little more cooling power to the heat-pipe.
