Performance & Stability : 95 vrmarks

The stability of the board is uncompromised and the performance at stock is at its best. ASUS has consistently designed Intel based motherboards to almost perfection. The HyperPath 2 technology coupled with native DDR2-711 memory frequency support as well as other performance enhancements features certainly boost its performance and make them the leader in both performance and market share. The benchmarks comparison between the 3.46 Extreme Edition as well as the Prescott 3.8Ghz revealed that the the higher FSB and larger cache 3.46EE excelled in the gaming aspect while for the higher clocked Prescott 3.8Ghz took the lead in some more CPU intensive applications like Winrar, SuperPI, Business Winstone and CC Winstone.

BIOS & Overclockability : 95 vrmarks

P5AD2-E Premium possess an excellent set of BIOS options for overclocking and performance tweaking. For the novice who wish to tweak the performance, ASUS has implemented Non-delay Overclocking System (NOS) for easy overclocking by percentage. The BIOS allows you to manually tweak the CPU FSB (100-400Mhz in 1Mhz interval), Memory Frequency (DDR 400/533/711), PCI-E Frequency (90-150Mhz), VCore up to 1.8V, VDIMM up to 2.2V, VBT uo to 1.5V, VChipset up to 1.8V, memory timings (CAS, Trcd, Tras, Trp) as well as PCI Express graphics settings. Not forgetting, ASUS is the first to release the CPU Lock Free feature that allows you to set 12X multiplier for your retail Pentium 4 processors so you can boost the CPU FSB above 200Mhz. I am able to reach a high FSB of 340Mhz with this board as a result.
