Boasting a bargain-deal WiFi bundle, extremely competitive performance and an insane amount of features, ASUS’s K8V has grabbed the spot of the TweakTown Canadian Lab’s favourite Athlon 64 motherboard. Here throughout the last few days, we’ve seen near on-par performance with that of our Athlon FX-51 machine and to top it off ASUS has complimented its motherboard with the capability of dual Serial ATA RAID (aside from the available dual-chain IDE RAID).

Basically, we’re impressed. Overclocking features were as abundant as any enthusiast will need, and the rest of the BIOS sported enough features to keep the tweaker inside all of us content. Although, we had to part with a fourth memory module and we subsequently weren’t able to run two pairs of 512MB Corsair TwinX3200LLPT as we had originally planned. However, the loss of a DIMM slot and conflicting ATX power connector placement were not strong enough setbacks to hold this product from a very solid rating
