afaik win xp doesn't offer such a thing, there are maybe some third party tools out there that allow the display of the acutal copy speed.

afaik this is not possible

try teracopy or supercopier2

these programs are able to handle copy/moving processes initiated by the windows explorer

plus, they are much more reliable. both support stop/skip/resume funktions.
supercopier2 can even save copy-jobs and allows you to set up rules for copying operations, like stack up jobs if harddisks involved already have running jobs (i.e. when you are already copying files with the windows intgrated copyhandler, start a new job you get 2 copywindows and the speed of both drops drastically, while supercopier will add the new files to the job and works them after one another. that way is much faster.)

I use total copy:

I like it because you can limit Copy speed if you need to.
