Hier einige Theorien zur Insel.
Bin schon gespannt, wann es Staffel 2 geben wird.

Spoiler Alert:

1. What's the deal with the island?
The island is located in an area of the planet where powerful
magnetic energies converge. A military (likely U.S.) project was
started around 1950-1960 to control and harness this energy for
whatever means that are still unknown.

2. What's up with the survivors having visions? Like when Jack saw
his father? Or Boone seeing his sister killed by the monster?
Exposure to these mysterious powerful energies can induce
hallucinations. The military experiment is likely also amplifying
the power of these energies. Long-term exposure (over a number of
years) will cause dementia. See Danielle and Ethan as examples of this.

3. So The Others are military?
Yes, most likely that's what they are.

4. Then why don't they just rescue anyone who becomes stranded on
the island?
Probably because immediate exposure to these energies causes one's
body to metasize antibodies, a virus, or some other contagen which
can be spread to others.

5. Then why are The Others taking the kids, and why boys?
Due to physical developmental differences between an adult brain and
child one, children probably suffer no ill effects from exposure to
the military project on the island. So they do not become infected.

6. But why are they taking the kids?
The military does not want generations of people to grow and remain
on this island. So they have a policy of doing the most humane
thing, which is to take the kids away.

7. What about the fact that Danielle's baby, Claire's, and Walt are
male?
This is just a coincidence. A female child would be taken by them too.

8. So was Ethan one of The Others?
Probably not. He was likely a stranded survivor, too, and was
manipulated by The Others to kidnap Claire.

9. Well then, how did Ethan take both Claire and Charlie?
Probably through some form of hypnosis or other means provided to
him by The Others.

10. Okay, but why don't The Others simply kill any survivor on the
island?
Many reasons for this: Perhaps the military would rather not, for
simple humane reasons. Also, maybe being in close proximity to any
infected person is too risky.

11. What about the black smoke?
It could be a signal to The Others that a child must be rescued from
the island. (Persönlich finde ich dies eine sehr gute Idee ...

12. What happened to Danielle's crew?
Over time, they either went mad from the infection, harmed one
another, themselves, or were killed off by other means (from the
"monster"). Or some of them may have gotten too close to the truth
about the island, and The Others took the risk to kill and take them
away.

13. The Black Rock, how did it get to where it is?
It probably ran aground over 150 years ago. Over time, the island's
shoreline shifted. Earlier in the season, the Flight 815 survivors
had to move their beach camp further inland due to the rising tide.

14. So the "monster" is just a swarm of microscopic robots??!
Yes. See the Michael Crichton novel Prey. (Habe ich gelesen, ein
echt cooles Buch!)

15. What is the Hatch?
Most likely an emergency escape exit that's connected to an
intricate, underground facility. (Interessant in Verbindung mit 16.)

16. The light that Locke saw through the Hatch window, WTF was that?
Locke and Boone had been trying to breach the Hatch for a couple of
weeks. So it's likely that The Others knew about this. Somebody at
the bottom of the Hatch beamed a flashlight up at the moment that
Locke was looking into it. Subsequently, the lower parts of the
ladder were destroyed and access to this hatch exit from within this
facility is probably now sealed off so that nobody can enter the
facility through this hatch

17. Where did the polar bears come from?
They were in the cargo hold, where Vincent was also being stored,
and, like Vincent, they survived the crash too.

18. Then what about the comic book with the polar bear in it?
It's just a coincidence.

19. What about all the references to the numbers? Those are all
coincidences?!
Actually, yes. Many of them probably are. This could just be the
writers playing with the audience. The significance of the Hatch
numbers and lottery numbers -- this could somehow be the result of
the strange military experiment.

20. But what about Locke being able to walk? Didn't the island heal
him?
Perhaps not. It's possible that Locke suffered a severe mental
breakdown in his past which caused him to believe he couldn't use
his legs. Notice that when he became frustrated with trying to open
the Hatch, he started losing the ability to walk. But his ability to
use his legs seemed to improve once he felt that the island was
giving him "signs" as to what he needed to do to open the Hatch.
Thus, his disability could all be just in his head. (Sehr nice, ich
könnte mich damit anfreunden.)

21. What about Walt? Is he gifted in some way?
It's possible that Walt may have some slight psychic ability. In the
universe of LOST, there could be a connection with the military
project's harnessing of strange energies emanating from the island's
locale, and those like Walt (and the psychic who advised Claire) who
have psychic abilities.

22. So what did Claire's psychic see?
He might have seen that Claire's son will become instrumental
somehow in affecting things for the better. Here's a theory: Through
a sequence of future events, baby Aaron could be used by the
survivors to draw out The Others, so that they can demand answers
from them and possibly discover a way to save themselves from what
seems to be an inevitable fate for all of them on this island.
(Madness, followed by death.) So Claire's child may indeed become
their savior.

23. I don't believe any of this explanation -- it sounds like crap
and lame! What do you think about that?
That's fine. You're entitled to your own theories, of course. But
it's doubtful that this show will ever reveal absolutely to the
viewer what is going on with the island. :-) This cheat sheet is
based on the evidence so far that has been seen and mentioned on the
show, thus far.

244 When Boone was on the radio in the plane, what did he hear?
There's been a lot of controversy about this, but the likely answer
he heard was: "No, we are the survivors of Flight 815." This is
probably setting up the appearance of survivors from the tail
section of Flight 815, which crashed far off in another part of the
island. Michelle Rodriguez's character will probably be among this
second group of survivors.

Absolut geile Erklärung! macht echt Sinn...
aber halt auf keinen fall lesen, wenn ma das Ende (sprich Folge 24) nu nit gsehen hat!

was die letzte folge die, wo sie die volkszählung gemacht haben?

wenn ja: jetzt wirds erst richtig spannend!
