Hello dudes,

I have a Acer Travelmate 292LMI that is shipped with ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700 64MB. Since I play games on my laptop there is a bad gameplay because sometimes the screen will freeze for a little small time. This shouldnt happen because all games I play will meet the game specs of my mobile computer. I also tried to benchmark my system with 3D Mark but I get an error message return. So bad luck at all. I didn't try to reinstall WindowsXP Home yet again (from original not bundled cd's). But I tried Windows XP Pro (with no WLAN working). I didn't play games on WindowsXP Pro yet. But I think this is maybe my processor. I saw a couple of dude's on this forums having the same laptop as I do. There ain't much reviews on google of my laptop. But when I get the the freezes in my games I hear my HDD with some little noise.

At all..the product has been shipped back to acer 2 times. Because of a HDD crash and because the motherboard died one time after that. Bad luck at all. All my hardware should work ok right now. But I still have this errors. Maybe someone has the same laptop and that one can share his/her game expierence.

Thank you very much for support,

htg

I can be reached on msn at protected

Have a great time!

as i wrote in my e-mail, try to use the omega-drivers and maybe speedswitchXP to keep the processor up at 1500 MHz

hey, i got the same 292lmi-m11.

go to http://www.tm290-drivers.com/ and update all your drivers as well as the bios (if you haven't already). You could also overclock your 9700Mob to at least 450/230 (i can do 475/260 stable). Then you should use "RMClock" and set 0,78V max for multi 6x and 1,18V for multi 15 and activate the tickbox "Run HLT command when the system is idle"

=> this should solve all your problems and give you a better gameplay (if not, overclock your card).

Hello,

I tried to use the program and I changed thte CPU settings. But I haven't tried to overclock my videocard. I would need to cool it maybe first. But I think the program I used didn't change too much effects. Could you give me some tips about the part you describe related to my videocard (overclock part). What kind of HDD do you actually use? Because my HDD could be too slow too. Because my videocard should be not too bad for games I play. They are not very new. I have 512 MB DDR RAM.

I would like to get some screenshots from you. I don't think I didn't configure RMClock the wrong way. But I could be wrong. So if you can give me more support. Maybe with screenshots or whatever thanks :) I have tried catalyst 5.5 so on too. Not good results really. So I think it's my HDD. It's a seagate momentos. Not too fast. I could try/buy a toshiba 80 GB 5200 RPM with 16 MB cache. If you think so I might have another problem. Please tell me. I like help :)

no your HDD is ok, im 99,9% sure, that your performance errors are caused by wrong driver settings!
did you update to the newest drivers?

RMCLOCK:

I used this version:
http://cpu.rightmark.org/download/rmclock_15_bin.exe
here are the settings you need to take. be sure to restart rmclock and re-do the same settings, if they are gone (happens the first 2-3 times, but maybe I'm just stupid)

Overclocking: download Powerstip and set your Video Cards frequency to 450gpu/240ram => this should do!

I hope you know, that ocing voids your warranty!
