What Michael Dell likes, and happens to be very good at, is tormenting bastions of the computer industry such as IBM, Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard (HP).

Take this prediction, for example: “I suspect we will challenge HP in printers within a couple of years’ time.” And this: “I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like the iPod produced by us.”
