http://www.beyond3d.com/reviews/sapphire/9600pro/One of the major criticism's of the 9600 PRO was the fact that it was unable to oust its predecessor, the 9500 PRO, in many ways, however one of the ways it is likely to happen is in the region of price. 9500 PRO, being based on the full R300 core, is a costly chip and hence the margins were always slim on that product and supply constrained, which means that even 6 months after its introduction there have not been massive price drops. In many places 9600 PRO's are already lower priced than 9500 PRO's and as the 130nm process, that RV350 is based on, matures so too will the price drop further. Given the overclocking potential of the boards these are gradually looking to be better buys than they seemed previously.
