Review @ Overclocker CafeThe Inno3D GeForce FX 5900 certainly gets the job done. If you are a dyed in the wool NVidia type person, the GeForce 5900 is the ticket. We've been playing around with the Inno3D 5900 for a few weeks now and have no functional complaints. Running demos and other eye candy with the graphics and full screen antialaising maxed out has been quite a treat. The raw performance benefit will depend on your application. For instance, with Unreal Tournament 2003's Inferno demo set up to run for speed at 1024 x 768 (most popular gaming resolution) the 5900 trounced the 5600 Ultra with its 210 fps compared to 108 fps. This is further illustrated at 1280 x 1024 with 142 fps to 68 fps. Definitely worth the added cost. On the flip side of that coin, say with Serious Sam 2 in OpenGL set for speed at 1024 x 768, we see only a 3 fps difference in performance.
My only gripe about the Inno3D 5900 is the relatively poor lapping job on the sink where it meets the GPU.
For the extra $100 over the 5600 Ultra you get some excellent frame rates and will have a card with a good lifespan in your system. (Not all of us can afford to upgrade our VGA card every 6 months or every 16 months for that matter.) The Inno3D Tornado GeForce FX 5900 is a good solid product that won't fail to please.
