8500er Radeon ship Gerüchte ...

ATI Tehnologies has released a PR reporting adjusted net income of $2.2 million or $0.01 per share for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year ended August 31, 2001. There is one interesting sentence in the press release: "The Company is also now shipping its recently announced RADEON 8500 and RADEON 7500 to its retail partners in North America."

It is rather strange for ATI not to announce beginning of the shipments, isn`t it? Some sources claim that they really have started the shipping in mass quantities, other say that this is only for making people think they have.

Anyway, both sources are not official, so there can be a few more issues about RADEON 8500 shipments. At this point just take in account the fact that ATI has begun something.
