There are also a handful of unique features here that are of genuine benefit to the target gamer audience. The ability to control the speed of fans and separately switch off fan LEDs all from a front panel mounted control is great and the firmly secured, well hidden case handles and the peripheral securing PCI-bracket are all of genuine use – it’s clear that Cooler Master has taken a lot onboard from the pro-gaming teams it consulted when designing the Sniper.

However, it’s not all been positive and throughout our time with the Cooler Master Sniper there’s been a quite obvious, and very frustrating, pattern of penny pinching. The lack of slide in/slide out dust filters in favour of clamping them in place with bent mesh tabs, the use of 2 pin rather than 3/4pin cables for the fan controller’s connections and most annoyingly the omission of the side panel mounted 240mm fan are all clear cost cutting measures, and don’t do what is otherwise a very solid and capable chassis, justice.
