Praktisches Tool: Synergy (1 Maus/Tastatur -> x Computer)

Hab gestern ein echt nettes Tool gefunden, und wollts hier mal "vorstellen".

Ich kopiere der Einfachkeit halber mal die Beschreibung von der Homepage:

With synergy, all the computers on your desktop form a single virtual screen. You use the mouse and keyboard of only one of the computers while you use all of the monitors on all of the computers. You tell synergy how many screens you have and their positions relative to one another. Synergy then detects when the mouse moves off the edge of a screen and jumps it instantly to the neighboring screen. The keyboard works normally on each screen; input goes to whichever screen has the cursor.

Eine mögliche Einsatzvariante (so wie ich es derzeit einsetze):
1 Notebook + 1 PC

Nachdem ich am Schreibtisch nicht allzu viel Platz habe, möchte ich die USB-Tastatur und zweite Maus vom Desktop PC nicht auch noch herumstehen haben. Außerdem nervt auch das ständige Wechseln zwischen den jeweiligen Eingabegeräten. Mit Synergy kann ich die Notebook-Tastatur und Maus bzw. Touchpad auch für den Desktop PC verwenden.

Das ganze ist zumindest in der Praxis so ÄHNLICH (wenn auch nur annähernd) wie VNC oder andere Remote Desktop Lösungen, IMO aber wesentlich unkomplizierter und zum Teil auch komfortabler.

Das ganze funktioniert auch mit unterschiedlichen Betriebssystemen und auch Spielen (also z.B. WoW auf einem Screen/PC, Windows mit Miranda/Browser/E-Mail auf dem anderen), den Möglichkeiten sind also kaum Grenzen gesetzt
