Es ist zwar noch in der Beta Phase aber verwendet irgendwer bereits iCloud Photos und kann bissl was dazu sagen?

Das der Speicher am Handy leider ausgeht und ein neues derzeit nicht nötig ist muss irgendwo speicher gespart werden.
Alternative Clouds bringen nicht viel, da die Daten wieder wo anders liegen und bei self hosted Clouds sind meist die Apps einfach zu mieß als das mans verwenden tagtäglich verwenden mächte. D.h. muss man wohl das geringste Übel nehmen und das ist in dem Fall wohl das iCloud Photos. Das ist zumindest schon direkt im System drin und kommt ohne Drittanbieter App aus.

Was mich dazu am meisten interessieren würde ist wieviel Platz man sich tatsächlich am Gerät selbst spart wenn man nur die optimierte Version und nicht mehr das Original speichert. Hab dazu leider keine Infos gefunden.
Und wie siehsts mitm Backup aus: wenn ich keine Originale mehr am Handy hab, kann ich die ohne viel Aufwand direkt von der iCloud HP runterladen?
Wie sind sonst die Allgemeinen Erfahrungen bisher damit?

Falls jemand doch gute Apps für self hosted Clouds kennt wäre ich da natürlich auch nicht abgeneigt.

die beta is schon lang verfügbar. einfach im ios auf photos gehen und aktivieren. (habs aber selber noch nicht ausprobiert)

hier ebenfalls. speicher sind schon 2gb wieder frei am handy ... aber dauert wohl noch die ganze nacht bis alle fotos upgeloaded sind. 3mbit upload is halt nicht die welt ...

werd dann erfahrungsbericht posten. 20gb für 99cent/mon is preislich ok, geht mir im moment ja nur um die ipad/iphone photos.

muss mich aber dennoch wiederholen: lieber wäre mir zwar eine private cloud gewesen, aber hab kein programm gefunden das auch nur halbwegs brauchbar wäre. entweder es is mieß auf der server seite, nicht open source oder das ios programm kann nix. meistens war es aber eine kombination aus mehreren ... da kann ichs wohl gleich apple "anvertrauen" ^^

finds irgendwie komisch das in die richtung nix brauchbares gibt. ich denke da könnte sich mit einer guten app doch bissl an geld machen lassen. z.b. seafile als server und app die alle ios features integriert wie extensions etc. incl. auto photo sync + guten viewer ...
