AMD has announced that it is resurrecting its All-in-Wonder series, this time as a high-definition piece of hardware called ATI All-in-Wonder HD.

Based on the derived RV635 (HD 3650) core made in 55nm technology, this PCI-Express 2.0 capable card comes with 120 stream processors, and works at 725MHz for the core and 600MHz for DDR2 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface.

This single slot multimedia beast can receive analog (NTSC), digital/HDTV (ATSC) and unencrypted digital cable (ClearQAM) signals with time shifting functionality. As every other tuner card out there, ATI's new AIW is capable of receiving FM radio station signal.

Beside the coaxial port, the card also comes with a single dual-link DVI and an HDMI port capable of passing the video and a 5.1 channel digital surround audio. The new AIW will also come with ATI AIW HD Accessory kit which gives additional connectivity options, but this one might be sold separately.

A while ago we were told that that AIW series will be revived as soon as they are back on their feet and as soon as they have a product worthy of the AIW series. This card is the current "Holy Grail" of HTPC systems, and we sincerely hope that ATI is working on an HD 4800 AIW card.

According to the press release from DAAMIT, Diamond Multimedia and VisionTek should be first to start selling these in late July with a price tag of US $199.

Bin schon mal auf den europäischen Straßenpreis gespannt. Die 3650 bekommt man ja schon für rund 50 Euro.

Und was genau bedeutet digital? DVB-T und/oder DVB-S oder gar S2, weil HDTV?

Naja, heutzutage eher ein Nischenprodukt, weil für HTPCs ist ein Board mit 780G und dazu eine FloppyDTV bspw. schon eher geeignet.

Ich seh die Anwendung auch nicht unbedingt in HTPCs, aber für spieleleistungsbewusste Gelegenheits-DVB-Nutzer die lieber eine All-in-One Lösung bevorzugen die - hoffentlich, AMD! - treibermäßig besser unterstützt wird als der klägliche DVB-Rest ist das sicher interessant.

wenn sie eh schon 2 slots für alle anschlüsse brauchen, können sie auch ne performante 48xx aiw mit dualslot design rausbringen. DAS wäre imho ein verkaufsschlager, solange der preis angemessen bleibt (50-100€ über der normalen karte).

und natürlich mit dvbs2 support.

Gerade bei High-Grakas wäre ich doch sher für eine getrennte TV-Karte. Diese Käuferschicht wechselt allgemein sehr schnell die Graka und dait dann auch autotaisch den TV-Teil der Aiw.

Ich finde die Kombination mit einer eher schwachen Graka, die aber deutlich stärker als onboard-Lösungen ist für vernünftig.

für diese karte wird es keine europäischen Strassenpreis geben, denn sie ist in Europa komplett nutzlos.

Digital heist sie kann ATSC. (wie schon im Newstext steht)
ATSC ist das Us-Pentant zu unserem DVB.

Das die Karte in der Ausführung nie nach Europa kommt war mir schon klar.

Für Europa hoffe ich auf eien DVB-T/S(2) Tuner.

gefällt mir und könnte in meine Dockingstation passen.

Also wenn davon eine Europaversion kommt und der preis passt ist sie sicher mein (<150€)
