Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, Währungsstrings schon im CSS zu definieren? Konkreter Anwendungsfall ist eine Preistabelle, und mir persönlich kommt es arg grausam vor, im xhtml selbst vor jede Zahl ein &euro zu setzen. Das muss doch eleganter gehen?

es gibt :before und :after, ich weiß allerdings nicht ob das mittlerweile vom IE unterstützt wird (zumindest bis zum 6er ziemlich sicher nicht)

Speziell fuer Waehreungen kenne ich nichts, aber es gibt das ":before"-Pseudoelement, das du dafuer nutzen koenntest: http://www.w3schools.com/CSS/CSS_pseudo_elements.asp

Danke, das wars! Wie das mit dem IE6 aussieht muss ich mir dann ansehen, der Anteil solcher User ist ja noch relativ groß was ich bei dieser Seite kaum unberücksichtigt lassen kann.

Womit wieder einmal ein IE-workaround nötig wird...

Dann kannst du dir aber auch XHTML im Sinne des Erfinders an den Hut stecken - zumindest als application/xhtml+xml.

Oh, wie ich Web"programmierung" hasse... weshalb ich auch solche Threads aufmachen muss. :)

Allerdings gibt es auch dafür einen workaround: http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/2004/xhtml-faq#ie

Ziemlich schwach finde ich bei CSS jedenfalls, dass es keine flexiblere String-Formatierung anbietet...

Sie sollte schon ohne Javascript laufen... jedenfalls ist es mir diese Kosmetiksache nicht wert.
